France-based hospitality accommodation company Accor has announced it will open 11 new serviced apartment properties under its Adagio brand.
One of the new properties will be located in Côte d’Ivoire while the rest will be spread across Europe. The European properties include five in France, two in Belgium, and one each in Italy, the UK and Germany. All the properties are scheduled to open before the end of 2023.
There are a total of 61 existing Adagio properties worldwide, according to the Accor corporate website. Most of these hotels (50) are in Europe, but there are also nine in Brazil and two in the United Arab Emirates.
Accor groups its hotels and other properties into four categories for price and quality. Adagio is part of its third category of ‘midscale’ hotel chains, below its ‘luxury’ and ‘premium’ brands.
The Adagio brand was launched in 2007, and in early 2023, a rebrand of the properties was completed. Accor has said it will also introduce a new co-living concept and a three-star concept under the brand, to be known as Adagio Access, this year.
Accor employs more than 290,000 people worldwide. It has more than 40 brands, manages 5,400 hotels and has properties in 110 countries. Its most famous brands include Sofitel, Banyan Tree and Raffles.
