US-based medical device manufacturer Masimo, through its subsidiary Masimo Medical Technologies Malaysia, has invested $21.1m (RM100m) to open a new production facility in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia.
The 14,777 m2 area comprises a production facility of 9024 m2 and a warehouse area spanning 5181 m2. The company’s strategic expansion aims to bolster its manufacturing capabilities, strategically positioning itself to meet the growing market demand for high-quality medical devices.

“Our cutting-edge facility represents a significant investment in the future of healthcare, and we are excited to leverage Malaysia’s strategic location and robust infrastructure to drive innovation and growth in the region,” he told reporters after the grand opening ceremony of the plant today.
Launched in 1989, Masimo is headquartered in Irvine, California, and has over 3,800 employees. The company focuses on making devices and technologies for monitoring patients.
