Infosys, a digital services and consulting provider based in India, has expanded their Living Labs network, which already has 12 centres globally, to London, UK. The new site will allow the company to help clients accelerate innovation and use emerging technologies for future-proofing their business. The lab will be located in Canary Wharf, London’s most important banking district.

Additionally, the company announced a partnership with the University of Cambridge to launch a new AI Lab on the same site. The lab would use AI to deliver benefits to customers, academic institutions, and students.

The Living Labs will be a centre for innovation activities. It will use digital experiences, frameworks and industry solutions to develop “breakthrough ideas.” An important focus of this research will be Enterprise AI, which allows customers to observe AI-powered digital transformation in action.

Tarang Puranik, executive vice president and head of delivery for Europe, Infosys, highlighted that “London is a melting pot of some of the world’s most forward-thinking and disruptive companies.” He noted that the new lab and partnership with Cambridge University reinforces Infosys’s “commitment to be a major part of [London’s] technological evolution”

The UK Minister for Digital Government and AI, Feryal Clark, said the government was putting AI at the core of its plan to “kickstart economic growth.” Clark said she “saw first-hand how Infosys’ new London base will support organizations and researchers to get the most out of this technology” in ways that will fuel innovation and deliver results across the country.

She also pointed to the UK’s recent International Investment Summit, where £63b of domestic and international investments were announced (although some were not new) as a signal of the country’s business potential.
