US-based energy technology company Baker Hughes has opened its new surface pressure control (SPC) headquarters and manufacturing centre in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Spread across 46,000 sqm, the new SPC facility will create more than 100 jobs. It will provide a full spectrum of wellhead and surface tree solutions. The new site also offers cladding, assembly, testing, repair, inventory management and field services.
The new site will expedite local procurement and delivery, reducing lead times, optimizing logistics, and enhancing supply chain performance for customers. It will deliver its first product by the end of the year.
The company also plans to establish a new on-site training centre to strengthen its talent pipeline across the region.
Lorenzo Simonelli, Baker Hughes chairman and CEO, emphasized UAE’s position as a “strategic energy hub” and characterised Abu Dhabi as an “ideal location” for supporting customer operations globally.
“By meeting our customers where they are, Baker Hughes can help deliver energy more efficiently to produce the shortest-cycle, lowest-carbon barrel,” he added.
