CEVA Logistics has strengthened its presence in Spain with the opening of a new facility in Tarragona, Catalonia.

The company will deliver customised logistics solutions “to address current market challenges” from the site, which more broadly it says will better allow it to serve customers across key sectors including automotive, retail, industry and e-commerce.

The 18,000sq m warehouse adds to CEVA’s existing 40 facilities across the Iberian Peninsula and takes its total floorspace in the region to over 600,000sq m. It has 50 loading and unloading docks and is staffed by 55 employees, with the capacity to scale that to 120 during busy periods.

In addition to being designed with the aim of maximising efficiency and responsiveness in warehousing and logistics, the new facility is certified BREEAM Excellent, which CEVA says reflects its commitment to sustainability.

Puerto Ahedo, contract logistics product head for Iberia, CEVA Logistics, said: “The opening of this new logistics platform in Tarragona marks a key milestone in our strategy to expand our contract logistics activities in Spain. It demonstrates our ongoing commitment to meeting the growing needs of our clients in the region.”

Headquartered in Marseille, France, CEVA provides customised solutions in contract logistics and air, ocean, ground and finished vehicle transportation in 170 countries worldwide. It has approximately 110,000 employees at around 1,500 facilities.
