Swiss food and beverage company Nestle has inaugurated its new beverage factory and distribution centre in Glendale, Arizona, US.

First announced in March 2022, Nestle has invested around $675m in the new site. Spanning nearly 58,500 sqm (630,000 square feet), it will reportedly add around 300 jobs to the local community.

Nestle’s new facility will produce creamers for several popular brands, including ‘Coffee Mate’, ‘Natural Bliss’, and ‘Starbucks’. Additionally, it has the potential to expand to other beverages.

Daniel Jhung, president of coffee and beverage for Nestle USA, expressed his gratitude towards the City of Glendale and Arizona for their support in this endeavour.

“Coffee culture is booming across the U.S. as consumers seek more options for customisation and experimentation. This new facility will play a key role in helping us deliver for our consumers now, and in the future,” he added.

Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers stated, “The City of Glendale is honoured to partner with Nestle to bring jobs to our community and advance our economy as a hub to propel the food and beverage industry forward.”

The company has also announced a donation of $100,000 to St. Mary’s Food Bank. This donation will provide enough food for almost 500,000 meals while also providing tailored job training to those facing employment challenges throughout Arizona.

The new location marks Nestle’s 20th food and beverage factory across the US. In 2024, it announced a $150m facility in South Carolina and a $195m site expansion in Wisconsin. Globally in 2024, it invested in Spain, the UK, Vietnam, and Italy.
