Lotte Global Logistics, a subsidiary of South Korea’s Lotte Group, has launched the construction of a cold chain logistics centre in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam, with a total investment of nearly $34m.
The Dong Nai cold chain centre will cover an area of 55,553sqm, with the main building measuring 26,167sqm. It is scheduled to begin full operations in May 2026. The centre aims to provide comprehensive logistics services, including import-export, storage, and delivery, with a particular focus on supporting medium-sized and small domestic enterprises entering the Vietnamese market.
Additionally, it has cold storage and distribution capabilities for a variety of product categories, such as high-value goods and fresh foods.
The centre is located in Dong Nai, a significant logistics hub next to Ho Chi Minh City, the country’s largest commercial hub benefitting from its proximity to important ports and airports. The company claims that the centre is expected to develop into a major logistical hub in southern Vietnam.
In May 2024, Lotte Global Logistics signed an agreement with Korean Ocean Business Corp, to increase global logistics competitiveness. As part of this agreement, the new venture will liaise with the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) to form a joint logistics centre.
Kang Byung-goo, CEO of LOTTE Global Logistics, marked the new centre as a significant step in the firm’s expansion in Vietnam.
“We are committed to providing high-quality, comprehensive logistics services across the country. Our goal is to establish this facility as a premier logistics hub, supporting business diversification and boosting Vietnam’s import-export activities,” Byung-goo noted.
Moving forward, the South Korean company will expand its operations to other locations, including a cold storage facility in Binh Minh Industrial Park, Vinh Long province, with a capacity of 7,400 pallets.
