Canada-based aerospace manufacturer Bombardier has announced plans to establish a new service facility at Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
This will enhance its global maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) network and strengthen its long-term regional presence. The facility will serve as a hub for the firm’s business jets and offer comprehensive MRO capabilities to Bombardier’s aircraft.
The facility will provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, aircraft modifications, and aircraft-on-ground (AOG) services. It will also create 100 aerospace jobs in Abu Dhabi.
Construction is expected to begin in the first half of 2025 and is set to become operational in the second half of 2026.
The site will include a 5109sqm hangar, parts depot, and full suite of service offerings. It will support Bombardier’s flagship Global 7500 and upcoming Global 8000 aircraft, due to enter service in the second half of 2025, along with aircraft from the Learjet, Challenger, and Global families.
Elena Sorlini, managing director and chief executive officer of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “We are delighted to welcome Bombardier’s new service facility to Al Bateen Executive Airport, building on a strong successful partnership. This move represents a strategic alignment, given the airport’s dedicated focus on business aviation and its ability to provide a seamless and efficient experience for Bombardier’s clientele.
This facility will further affirm Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading aviation hub and contribute significantly to the region’s economic growth. We are confident this collaboration will drive mutual success for both Bombardier and Abu Dhabi Airports.”
Bombardier’s international footprint includes 10 facilities across six countries and a global fleet of around 5,000 aircraft.
