Poland is the 22nd largest economy in the world with a GDP of $619.1bn. Poland’s GDP has grown by 33% between 2010 and 2021 and is expected to grow by 17% by 2025.

As of 2021 there are 1.5 million students in tertiary education in Poland, with 2.3 million students in secondary and 2.4 million in primary education. Poland spent 3.7% of its GDP on education in 2019.

Poland ranked 40th in the World Bank’s Doing Business Report (2020). In the 2019 report it finished 33rd. In the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report (2019), Poland finished 37th, after ranking 37th in 2018.

Public healthcare expenditure totalled $26.4bn and private healthcare expenditure equalled $10.4bn in 2018.

The largest urban areas in Poland are Warsaw (3.1 million people), Katowice (2.7 million) and Warsaw City (1.8 million).
