The US is the largest economy in the world with a GDP of $22.1 trillion. The US’s GDP has grown by 45% between 2010 and 2021 and is expected to grow by 13% by 2025.

As of 2021 there are 19.6 million students in tertiary education in the US, with 24.9 million students in secondary and 25.6 million in primary education. The US spent 4.5% of its GDP on education in 2019.

The US ranked sixth in the World Bank’s Doing Business Report (2020). In the 2019 report it finished eighth. In the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report (2019), the US finished second, after ranking first in 2018.

Public healthcare expenditure totalled $2.9 trillion and private healthcare expenditure equalled $537.8 billion in 2018.

The largest urban areas in the US are New York/Newark/Jersey City (20 million people), Los Angeles/Long Beach/Anaheim (13.3 million), Chicago/Naperville/Elgin (9.4 million).
