Hong Kong is the 33rd largest economy in the world with a GDP of $387 billion. Hong Kong’s GDP has grown by 65% between 2010 and 2021 and is expected to grow by 20% by 2025.

As of 2021 there are 332,900 students in tertiary education in Hong Kong, with 321,400 students in secondary and 414,100 in primary education. Hong Kong spent 3.9% of its GDP on education in 2019.

Hong Kong ranked third in the World Bank’s Doing Business Report (2020). In the 2019 report it finished fourth. In the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report (2019), Hong Kong finished third, after ranking seventh in 2018.

Public healthcare expenditure totalled $10.4 billion and private healthcare expenditure equalled $10.8 billion in 2018.
