Indian pharmaceutical manufacturer ACG has opened a new capsule production facility in Rayong, Thailand.

The new site is aimed at helping to meet the rising demand for premium capsules across the region and to help ACG expand its presence in Asia. ACG expects it to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce delivery times for key markets including Thailand itself, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, Malaysia and the Philippines. In addition, ACG is seeking approval to supply capsules to China.

Covering more than 175,000sq m, the facility will specialise in producing empty hard gelatin capsules. It will employ 250 people and have an annual production capacity of 20 billion units.
