Airbus SE, a Netherlands-based multinational aerospace corporation, plans to expand its Safety Promotion Centres to China, the US, Germany, and the UK.
First introduced in 2023, the Safety Promotion Centre is a dedicated facility aimed at improving safety in the aviation sector. Its primary responsibilities involve critical elements such as enhancing flight safety by learning from previous accidents, guaranteeing aircraft safety through careful design, production, testing, and operational procedures, and encouraging cooperation by facilitating the exchange of information among staff and the wider aviation community.
Safety continues to be a top priority in aircraft technology, with the ongoing incorporation of cutting-edge technology being essential for improving safety protocols.
Airbus also operates a satellite SPC in Bangalore, India, to support its worldwide efforts in safety education.
Nicolas Bardou, product safety communications and aircraft accident crisis response advisor at Airbus, said: “Safety is everyone’s business. What we have observed is that whenever we put additional technology in the body of aircraft, it brings an additional level of safety. We are using new technologies in our job that help us better understand safety norms.”
Under its ‘Health Onboard’ initiative, Airbus is also working with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to prepare for potential future pandemic scenarios.
