Austria-based semiconductor manufacturer AT&S AG has announced the establishment of an Information Technology Shared Service Centre (IT SSC) in Pune, Maharashtra, India, to support its transcontinental operations.
This new facility aims to create opportunities for many Indian IT specialists, particularly in the fields of security, SAP, and program development. Its establishment follows Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Austria in July 2024, during which he met with top AT&S management at the Federal Chancellery in Vienna.
The new global centre in Pune will support the group’s operations in Austria, China, Malaysia, and India. The company plans to hire over 100 technical resources at the Pune IT SSC by 2025-26 to assist its six manufacturing plants and nine sales offices worldwide.
Peter Griehsnig, AT&S AG’s chief technology officer said, “AT&S stands for progress, innovation, and the willingness to invest in the brightest minds and state-of-the-art technology all over the world. The launch of our IT Shared Service Centre in Pune marks a significant milestone in our global digital transformation journey. India’s rich talent pool and innovative spirit make it the ideal location to drive efficiency, agility, and technological excellence across our operations. This centre will not only enhance our IT capabilities but also foster collaboration and innovation at scale.”
The global IT shared service centre extends the AT&S group’s 25-year presence in India, where it currently has a PCB manufacturing facility in Nanjangud, close to Mysuru. To gain a substantial competitive edge in the market, AT&S AG has redesigned the strategy for business efficiency in microelectronics and PCB manufacturing with this new endeavour.
The new Pune centre is designed to support AT&S’s global operations in the production of printed circuit boards and advanced microelectronics by providing essential IT services.
