Inteva Products, a US-based, automotive supplier has announced its plan to expand its manufacturing plant in Chakan, Pune to accommodate the increasing demand from global automotive companies.

The company is investing $3.3m to expand its facility. This expansion will boost the plant’s production capacity by 70%, increasing the total area to 85,000sqf, along with an extra 26,000sqf designated for office space.

While Inteva’s facility is already producing essential components such as side door latches, liftgate latches, window regulators and motors for major Indian auto companies like Tata Motors, the expansion will allow them to better meet the demands of automotive clients and increase operational efficiency.

The expansion is intended to enhance Inteva’s supply chain capabilities in India, in light of increasing demand.

Gerard Roose, President and CEO of Inteva Products, said “This expansion reflects Inteva’s ongoing commitment to the Indian market, which is important to our global growth strategy. As demand for high-quality automotive components rises, we are increasing our capacity to better serve our customers and create local job opportunities.”

The company anticipates the expansion will generate 100 new positions in Pune, bolstering the local workforce and fostering economic growth in Maharashtra. Inteva’s emphasis on leveraging local talent is consistent with India’s initiatives to enhance its automotive manufacturing industry.
