UK-based luxury automotive manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced plans to invest £65m ($81m) to expand its paint services in Slovakia and the UK.
The firm, part of India’s Tata Group, aims to meet the growing demand for customized paint services in the region.
JLR will establish new paint facilities in Castle Bromwich, West Midlands and Nitra, Slovakia. The service will allow clients to match the colour of their Range Rover SV models to their private jets or yachts. Additionally, the new sites will more than double the capacity of its SV bespoke paint operation.
Jamal Hameedi, director of special vehicle operations at JLR said, “Range Rover clients are increasingly choosing to tailor their vehicles with more exclusive bespoke and elevated palette paints.”
“By increasing our capacity, we can satisfy the demand growth from our Range Rover clients and clients of our other brands,” he added.
Earlier this month, Rolls Royce made a similar investment announcing £300m ($370m) to extend its facility at Goodwood, UK.
