US specialty chemicals company Lubrizol has announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Aurangabad, India.

The new facility will require a projected investment of $200m and will be built on a 49-hectare (120 acres) site. It will be operational in 2028.

Upon completion, Lubrizol’s new facility would be its largest site in India and second-largest site globally.

The new facility aims to fulfil the growing regional demand for transportation and industrial fluid markets. It is also keen to tackle the advanced local-for-local supply of other growing segments.

The Aurangabad facility adds to Lubrizol’s recent series of investments across India. Earlier this year in April, it opened a new global capability centre (GCC) in Pune. Last year in February, it opened a new grease lab in Navi Mumbai.
