By GlobalDataConscious decisions have been made concerning the construction, with a focus on a sustainable and ecological design. A timber hybrid construction method will be used in conjunction with sustainable building materials. A large-scale photovoltaic system and a green roof solution will ensure energy efficiency, while charging stations will be available in the company’s new car park.
Hybrid working at MIC headquarters
MIC offers its employees hybrid working – up to 50% of an employee’s working week can be from home. As such, old-school office design has been abandoned, with an emphasis on meeting and focus rooms to promote creativity and agility.
As is the case with most companies, making the office environment attractive to staff is a key priority. MIC will provide a catering area with freshly cooked food, a library-esque quiet zone, training rooms and a fitness area, all with the intention of increasing the appeal of office working versus working from home.
Linz’s mayor, Klaus Luger, hailed MIC’s decision to expand in the city, the third largest in Austria. He pointed towards the city being a key hub for digitalisation and innovation.
The new corporate headquarters is scheduled to open towards the end of 2024.
