
French energy management and automation company Schneider Electric has announced its intention to establish three manufacturing plants in India.
Schneider Electric currently operates 31 manufacturing sites in the country. The new facilities, situated in Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Ahmednagar, will further expand its production capabilities.
Olivier Blum, CEO of Schneider Electric said, “India’s focus on digitalization, sustainability, and infrastructure modernisation presents unparalleled growth opportunities.”
“We are leveraging AI and digitisation to accelerate growth in the Indian energy sector. We believe that advanced technologies like digital grids, IoT-enabled distributed energy resources, microgrids, smart buildings, and smart cities will reduce emissions by 75% over the next 25 years,” he added.
This news adds to the company’s earlier investments in India. In March 2024, it announced a $385m (Rs 3,200 crore) investment to add nearly 92903 sqm of manufacturing space by 2026.

According to GlobalData insights, Schneider Electric is one of the most active electronics companies when it comes to making international expansions. Globally in 2024, the company announced investments in Scarborough (UK), Tennessee (US), Cavite (Philippines), and Bengaluru (India).
