TriMas, a US-based manufacturer and supplier of goods for the industrial, consumer goods, and aerospace sectors announced the opening of its new packaging plant in Haining, China.

The facility will be spread over 20903sqm. It will combine two former plants in Hangzhou and Haining into a single facility that will service clients in the region.

Modern automation features at the facility include autonomous robots like Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), injection moulding, and assembly capabilities. It also has a dedicated Warehouse Management System (WMS) and robotic auto palletizing, which work together to enhance material handling, lower labour costs, and lower safety hazards.

Thomas Amato, TriMas president and chief executive officer, said the facility “reflects our commitment to operational excellence, innovation, sustainability and delivering high-quality packaging solutions for our customers.”

He said that the company’s flagship locations in the US, Mexico and China were “strategically positioning us for continued growth across these key regions.”

“We extend our thanks to our TriMas Packaging team who contributed to the successful launch of this cutting-edge facility in Haining,” he added.
