Yamaha Motor Europe, the regional subsidiary of the Japanese mobility giant, has opened a new testing centre in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
The Yamaha Marine European Engineering Centre (YMEEC) is intended to provide boat builders with suitable conditions for year-round testing, which Yamaha has said is “unique in the industry in Europe”, and to offer all of the company’s services in one place. This new centralised will allow clients to minimise transportation and carbon output.
Yamaha has said the new centre makes it the only company in the industry offering an engineering standard testing protocol and personalised testing to boat builders in Europe. This is facilitated through the centre’s use of “advanced testing equipment and data recording”.
The centre will support Yamaha’s efforts in electric motor development and sustainability.
Fabrice Lacoume, marine director of Yamaha Motor Europe, said: “It is with great sense of commitment and joy that we open this one-of-its-kind engineering centre to support collaboration with boat builders, through boat testing and homologation. We believe this centre will truly make a difference to boat builders, at the same time contributing to our global marine sustainability goals.”
